  • This Geographic Data Set contains the METAREAS, ie, weather warning areas.

  • This geospatial dataset compiles the Navigational Warnings (coastal and local) and the Temporary Notices to Mariners that are currently in force and made available by the Hydrographic Institute through the ANAVnet service (https://geoanavnet.hidrografico.pt/). Navigational warnings consist of messages containing urgent and vital information for the safety of maritime navigation, transmitted to ships in accordance with the provisions of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS). Depending on the area for which they are issued, they may include: Coastal Warnings (nav_warning_coastal): issued by a national coordinator and broadcast internationally through NAVTEX and/or Enhanced Group Call (EGC) systems; Local Warnings (nav_warning_local): relating to inland waters or areas under the jurisdiction of port or maritime authorities. Within the scope of Maritime Safety, there are also periodic groups issued by the Hydrographic Institute, known as Notices to Mariners (NtM). These are intended to disseminate important information for navigation safety and are also used to correct nautical documents. In this case, only Temporary Notices to Mariners (notice_mariners) are available: notices that report events of interest to mariners of a temporary nature, resulting from accidental situations or planned interventions, with a temporary impact on navigation safety. The data provided here do not follow the S-100/S-124 model, corresponding instead to traditional Maritime Safety Information (MSI) messages, as defined within the framework of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

  • This geographic dataset (GDS) contains the coastal and local Navigational Warnings (ANAV) currently in force in S-124 format (https://registry.iho.int/productspec/list.do), in accordance with the S-100 specification (https://registry.iho.int/main.do) of the International Hydrographic Organization (https://iho.int/).. This dataset is part of the High-Value Datasets (HVD) identified in accordance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/138 under Directive (EU) 2019/1024 on open data and the re-use of public sector information. • This geographic dataset (GDS) contains the geographic location of the active and historical tide gauge stations operated by the Hydrographic Institute, as well as the corresponding sea surface height (SSH) observations in near-real-time (NRT). SSH observations (https://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/collection/P07/current/CFSN0374/) are provided in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, ISO 8601) and referenced to the Hydrographic Zero (ZH, EPSG:10349). Quality control (QC) codes comply with the vocabulary available at https://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/collection/L20/current/. Processing levels follow an internal convention, where L1 corresponds to data without quality control and L2 to data with automatic quality control (e.g., range checks, spike detection, and temporal consistency tests). Active tide gauge stations: tide_obs_stations_nrt Near-real-time data without quality control (L1): tide_obs_data_nrt_l1_min — NRT data without quality control (L1), 1-minute sampling frequency, 1-minute latency, and an 8-day rolling time window tide_obs_data_nrt_l1_sec — NRT data without quality control (L1), 10-second sampling frequency, 1-minute latency, and an 8-day rolling time window Near-real-time data with automatic quality control (L2): tide_obs_data_nrt_l2 — NRT data with automatic quality control (L2), 5-minute sampling frequency, 1-day latency, and a 15-day rolling time window Historical tide gauge stations: tide_obs_stations_hist To access the complete observation time series, or specific historical periods, a request should be sent to cedencia.dados@hidrografico.pt.
